BAYA provides a variety of support to girls and women. Our activities include:

1. Providing training:

We provide theoritical and practical training on the sexual and reproductive system of women, STIs, HIV/AIDS prevention, combating stigma, living with HIV/AIDS, use of computers and the internet.

We build capacities of women to start-up and run their own businesses.

2. Experience sharing: we bring women with different levels of experiences from different sectors to meet during fashion events, in hair saloons and at musical concerts to share ideas and educate each other.

3. Mentorship: we run a mentorship program through which trainees, mainly underprivileged girls are linked up with experienced women. Mentors and mentees go through a six month programme that encourages the exchange of knowledge geared towards building the capacities of mentees in key areas such as networking, publlic speaking, fundraising, career planning and job search.

One stop shop for underserved women:

BAYA aims to identify and work closely with girls and women who show the passion and skills to become leaders in different sectors. We shall pay particular attention to the following groups of underprivileged women:

i) Single teenage mothers;

ii) Slum dwellers;

iii) Women from minority groups such as the Mbororos; and

iv) Other such disadvantaged women.

Our capacity building and mentorship programmes are closely linked in such a manner as to complement each other and provide opportunities to a variety of women with different needs.
